We’ve been creating award-winning products, branding and packaging for over 25 years. Awards are great, but we know that the ‘bottom line’ is where you need to feel the full benefit and value of a professional design strategy.

Sanders is a close-knit team, comprising of product, branding, graphic and packaging designers, all supported by a small but highly efficient management team. Rarely will you find a consultancy of this size offering such a comprehensive range of design disciplines at such a high level under one roof… and what’s more, we’re rather nice people to work with too!

Julian Sanders
Managing Director

With over 30 years experience in the design industry, Julian has accrued a substantial portfolio of work amongst which is some award winning work for major blue chip clients both in the UK and overseas. He’s worked with manufacturers such as Kenwood, Cyrus Audio, Wedgwood
 and Vista Alegre and retailers such as Boots, Tesco, Sainsbury’s and John
Lewis. Julian is passionate about design education and remains actively
involved. He has a Masters Degree in Industrial Design, is a member of the CSD
 and a Fellow of the RSA.

Matthew Blofeld
Product Director

As head of product design and development at Sanders, Matt is responsible for overseeing both the creative content and management of all product design work. He has a number of awards under his belt, including the prestigious German Red Dot Design Award. Like Julian, he’s passionate about creating beautifully crafted products that are considered and appropriate for their intended market. Matt is also a mad cyclist… that is, he’s mad about cycling.

Lianne Samuel
Studio Director

Lianne is the longest serving member of the team here at Sanders and ensures that the studio runs smoothly and efficiently. She knows the status of every live project and organises the workflow to make certain that all projects are delivered to budget and on time. As a company director, her primary role is the financial management of the business, although she’s as happy to answer the phone, as she is to analyse the annual accounts.

Anthony McAllister
Business Development Manager

Anthony’s client centred approach and passion for creating the best possible customer experience has led him to specialise in Business Development and Account Management within the creative industry. Having graduated with a degree in industrial design, Anthony has spent much of the past 12 years working with both blue chip and public sector organisations. His in-depth knowledge of the design and development process from client consultation through to final project delivery has enabled him to build concrete client relationships, which have resulted in numerous profitable business relationships.

Luke Richards
Senior Designer

Luke began his creative career as an industrial designer before retraining in graphic design. Since then, he has worked extensively on branding and packaging projects with a diverse range of clients, including many blue chip companies. Luke’s been responsible for co-ordinating branding and packaging work in countries as diverse as China, India, mainland Europe and USA. He’s a bit of a ‘foodie’ too and loves nothing more than working on food-related projects, many of which take pride of place in our design portfolio.

Jameila Al-Haji Thomas
Brand Designer

As a lead graphic and branding designer, Jameila has developed and transformed brands both in the UK and internationally. She uses a systematic process, developed and refined over time, which produces a holistic and seamless experience for all involved. Jameila works across both print and digital platforms, encouraging clients to become more innovative through creative thinking while producing tangible outcomes across their business.

Alan Mumby
Design Associate

Alan has been working in the design industry for over 30 years. Originally from North Wales, he came ‘south’ to further his career working in product design and development for a number of manufacturing companies. For 13 years he was a Research Fellow (Design) at the University of Wales Institute Cardiff where his work relating to design strategy made him much sought after in both academia and industry alike. Alan has a Masters Degree in Business and is a Fellow of the RSA.
